Favourites of 2015

I thought I would show you some of my favourite products I discovered over the course of 2015. For me, it's been a year of trying new things and of course there are some products I have come across which have not been to my liking (always a risk when you try to branch out!) however, there have also been a few fabulous finds.

Now, I LOVE Yankee Candles in general. Most of the scents are pretty good, however I was lucky enough to discover their Sugared Apple scent. Oh my goodness!!! I can't begin to describe how good this candle smells (think more sugar than a fruity apple smell) so I would recommend giving it a sniff for yourself, but if like me you are one of these people who loves sweet scents, I guarantee you will love it! I think it's one of their festive scents but I burn it all year round.
The book, I was given as a christmas present last year (my annual book from my lovely Uncle). A lot of the time I struggle to read the books he gifts me but when I saw it was a Jodi Picoult novel, I was excited. The Storyteller is a great read. I took it on holiday with me to Mexico last summer and read it sunbathing by the pool in about 3 days! It's about a young woman who meets an old man who confesses to her that he was a Nazi in World War II and the story includes first person accounts about the Holocaust. I won't say anymore as I don't want to spoil it for any of you who want to read it, but I will say it is gripping and is a beautiful story.

There has been so much hype this year about cleansing waters so I won't say much other than my favourite is the Garnier Miceller Water. It is so gentle on the skin, completely removes any trace of makeup and takes less than a minute to do. Perfect after a late night when you can't be bothered spending 10 minutes in the bathroom before bed.

When I have had the time to pamper myself, I have been loving using the Sanctuary Spa Thermal Detox Mask. It's warming when first applied to the skin (which feels very luxurious) and makes my skin feel so soft afterwards. Love love love!

I enjoy most products from The Body Shop, especially their much loved Body Butters. This year, just out on an average shopping trip, I stumbled across the Blueberry scented butter. Now, the body butters are all amazing anyway due to the silky feel they give my skin and I personally love that they instantly dry in and I don't have to wait ages for the moisture to soak into my skin. However, I am just obsessed with the blueberry scent. It is heavenly and this is my third tub of it in about 6 months.

Now, I'm not saying I only just discovered peppermint tea this year. I've been drinking it for a few years, however, I have drank A LOT of it this year and my favourite is definitely Twinings Invigorating Peppermint. When I've had a busy day at work or just a hectic day in general, it's lovely to be able to sit down with my owl mug of tea and watch a wee movie. Girls - it's also amazing for that time of the month!

I have a favourite perfume of 2015 (and unless I discover an amazing new scent this year, it will probably be my favourite of 2016 as well). Christian Dior Addict Red - Oh Em Gee!!! My lovely boyfriend bought me it for my birthday last year and then again this year because I'd run out of it. It's just a very lovely feminine scent to wear.

There had been some hype in my circle of friends earlier on in the year about the Bourjois blusher pots so I decided to try one out for myself. I ordered the Rose Ambre shade and it was prefect. The first thing I loved about it was the smell when I opened the pot up. It has a lovely sweet scent as well as being a gorgeous matte rose colour. I also find it lasts quite well throughout the day - unless I wear it in work, in which case it comes off with all my makeup as I'm running about like a headless chicken! A perfect little drugstore blush for everyday.

Something I have only started getting into this year has been lip colour. Growing up, I only ever used lipgloss but since the beginning of the year I have entered into the world of lipstick. One of the first products I tried was the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain which I did because I thought it would be safer to start off with a cross between a lipgloss and a lipstick. I now love my lipsticks, however, most days you'll still find me with the Revlon Colorstay in Parisian Passion on my lips. The purply pink colour is perfect on me and I just find it very easy to wear and top up throughout the day. Low maintenance and looks fabulous!

I'm looking forward to another year of discovering new products so if you have any recommendations, please feel free let me know in the comments. What have your fav products of 2015 been?
