A real love of mine is all things beauty. Seeing as my last few posts haven't been beauty related, I thought I would do a lip favourites for you all. Towards then end of summer last year, I started wearing colour on my lips but before that it would just be a bit of clear lipgloss or a lip balm. I've only recently plucked up the courage to wear bold colours on my lips, but now that I have... I LOVE it! I have three favourites to share with you.
Generally, I think I suit the more darker toned lip colours but maybe that's just because I haven't quite branched out to the brighter pink colours. My three favourites are all what I would call "berry" colours, that is to the say the more darker toned reds and purples. Maybe that should be a goal of mine this year - to try to wear a pink colour on my lips?!
I can't quite remember how I stumbled across this little gem of a lip product, but it was the perfect go to for me when I started to wear colour on my lips. Revlon Colorstay Moisture Satin has the consistency of a good lip gloss (that is to say not sticky, but silky smooth) which I feel is a lot easier to put on than a full on lipstick. The staying power is pretty good and the colour that I am wearing "Parisian Passion" is a lovely purple/pink. It's all round just very easy to wear on a daily basis.
I love the Kate Moss Matte range of Rimmel lipsticks and the colour 107 is my ultimate favourite. The lipstick itself is very smooth and light on the lips which makes it so easy to wear and the finish is a lovely matte effect that doesn't feel drying. I sometimes put this on over a lip balm when I want a more glossy finish and it works wonders. The colour is a deep pinky red, that I believe makes for a much more polished look than a full on red on my lips. The fact that this is drugstore price completes this for me, as I would expect to pay more for the quality of the Kate Moss Lasting Finish range.
This is a recent one for me, as after being on my christmas wishlist for 2 years I finally have it! I've had the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in "Glastonberry" for less than a month and I've already worn it so many times. The colour is just red toned enough to not be a really bright purple colour, so it's very flattering to wear. The staying power is incredible as well. I mean, I can go out for dinner and my lips are still perfect afterwards. As with the Rimmel lippy, it has a lovely matte finish that doesn't feel drying on the lips - very easy and comfortable to wear out and about.
So there you have it - my top 3 lip products I have been wearing the past few months. I would love to hear from you about brighter colours/pinks that you think will suit me as my goal is to confidently wear a more pink lip, in preparation for the spring time...
