Christmas Prep.

It's that time of year again, where we all start getting into the festive spirit! Now, I can hear some of you now "It's only november!"
Well yes, that is why I haven't put my tree up yet, or started listening to Michael Buble's christmas album!  Whilst doing the weekly food shop this week, I got excited by all the seasonal stuff that was out so I thought how can I start feeling festive without going too over the top in November.  The result was buying wrapping paper and a Poinsettia.
I love a Poinsettia because as someone with a bad track record for house plants/flowers, they are a lot easier to care for.  It only needs watered every three(ish) days when the soil is beginning to feel dry and as long as it getting some sunlight throughout the day, you're good to go.  They last a lot longer than your standard flowers and it is a really simple way to make your room look a little more festive!
I am a sucker for a bargain, so when I saw that wrapping paper was on a 3 for 2 offer I went for it. I especially love the brown paper with the cute little reindeer on it.  Also, brown paper is ideal for making your presents look festive and sophisticated if you add a little glam with ribbon and bows! I will probably have some wrapping advice and ideas later on in December once I've actually braved the crowded shops and bought my gifts.

Barry M Gelly Nail Polish.

I have always been a big fan of styling my own nails.  Of course, who doesn't love going and getting a professional manicure, especially for a special occasion.  But it can save you a lot of pennies if you can do it yourself!

Having never really bitten my nails as a child, I am lucky to have a nice natural shape to my nails. My friends are always asking if I have false nails and my answer is always "nope". The only nail care I really do is to file them down and moisturise.

Anyway, back to Barry M. In my school days, I was obsessed with Avon nail polishes and I think I had them in about 12 different colours at one point. For the past 4 years I have been using up my Avon polishes and a few other stragglers, so now I am basically starting from scratch. I have heard lots of people raving about the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail paints so I bought it in the colour Watermelon and have taken it for a test drive.

Oh my gosh! It is a gorgeous shade and is so pigmented that it only needs one coat. With other nail polishes I sometimes feel that to get a bold colour, I have to lather the stuff on! Not with Gelly Hi-Shine. Will have to wait and see how effective its' staying power is...

Let me know in the comments of other nail polish brands you would recommend.

A little hello.

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
cheers and hello.

Hellooooooooooooo! Just a quick welcome from me to the world of blogging. You know when we were all little and you would write to your diary, telling it about your day and feeling like you were actually talking to someone. Well, that's how I feel right now except I am talking to people you can really listen (possibly... there might be nobody reading my thoughts)!

Anyway, I have been feeling inspired to make changes in my life, one of which involves getting some creativity back into my life. Hello blog! Hopefully I can keep this up as I want to share all the ups and downs of everyday life, in a way which is a little more creative than posting to Facebook *hehe*.

I think it is important to start off with a brief introduction to who I am, so without further ado...

*Chelcie (strange spelling? Blame the rents but personally, I LOVE it!)
*Scotland
*Currently living with my wonderful boyfriend and my sister (it works, I promise.)
*Cooking (currently learning a better appreciation, Be patient with this one.)
*Beauty
*Fitness
*Fashion
*Cocktails (only a couple at once, Personally not a fan of over-indulgence of this stuff.)
*Pretty things (nature, Beautifully captured moments.)
*Music
*Books
*Movies
*TV Shows (I watch a lot of these, Please recommend goodies!)

Essentially, what I'm telling you is that these are the things that interest me and make up my life. So this lifestyle blog will be me attempting to share these passions in a creative way with fellow creative and passionate people.

One final point - CHRISTMAS is coming. Bring on the festivities!
